Welcome to the

Idaho Preservation Society™

We exist to preserve and promote Idaho’s unique culture.

Focused on building an aligned community.

As Idaho grows, we see the need to define and safeguard our state’s cultural values. Here’s how we’re making a difference:

  • Creating an Idaho Handbook

  • Partnering with Real Estate Agencies and Property Managers to share Idaho’s core values with residents across the state

  • Grant writing to support activities that promote or exemplify Idaho's core values

  • Establishing partnerships with Idaho-oriented businesses

  • Connecting people in local communities and across the state to solve pressing issues

  • Promoting Idaho’s culture in podcasts & interviews and at farmer’s markets or other public events

And, enlisting the help of Idaho’s residents to spread the word and increase our impact!

What matters most are the values we share with others.

Helpful

Idahoans are known for their willingness to help others from personal kindness to organized community efforts. Having the needed knowledge and capabilities, they step up to help, driven by a commitment to individual prosperity and the desire to make a positive impact.

Authentic

Idahoans value direct, sincere communication, taking full responsibility for their words. This principle of authenticity is rooted in the ethos of "live and let live," where speaking one's truth and respecting others' rights to do the same fosters a community of mutual respect and coexistence.

Adventure

Idaho's diverse landscape — from its towering mountains to expansive wilderness areas, deserts, and rivers — invites the spirit of adventure. This spirit thrives in pursuits like hiking, kayaking, hunting, and more, celebrating a life where embracing nature's challenges while appreciating its beauty is a cherished way of life.

Grit

From the arduous work in silver mines to the labor of potato fields, Idahoans have cultivated a spirit of resilience, taking on individual responsibility to surmount harsh conditions. Grit here means tackling challenges head-on with the unwavering resolve of our ancestors, embodying enduring perseverance, self-reliance, and resilience.

Resourceful

Idahoans demonstrate remarkable resourcefulness, transforming the land's offerings into the essentials for survival and our modern lives. Through skill and creativity, they utilize available resources not only to meet basic needs but to enrich life, representing a tradition of ingenuity and self-sufficiency.

Idaho is a great place to live. Together we’ll preserve the values that made it great.
