Since the Beginning of Time
By Sid Freeman - 2001
Since the beginning of time, man’s ability to provide food, fiber, and fuel for himself and his companions, has determined his independence, freedom, and security.
As man colonized, the strength of each, and every colony was directly related to man's ability to provide for his people, a safe, and reliable, source of food, fiber, and fuel.
As nations formed, only the ones that had this ability would rise to the top. And since then, many have fallen because they have lost this ability.
It doesn’t matter what history book you choose to believe in, this statement will stand true. It is a testament that a strong and viable agriculture industry is one of the most important cornerstones in the foundation of any country’s national security.
Agriculture Education and the FFA are critical in creating and maintaining a strong and valuable agriculture industry.
This is especially true today as the actual number of farmers in the United States is now less than 2% of our nation's population.
May God bless our American farm families, and Agribusinesses, as they continue to feed our nation and a great deal of the rest of the world.
